The place is stunning, lots of history. Had a wicked nice chat with Roberto at the front desk about the building's past. But, man, it was freezing in the bathroom—no heat in there at all. Kinda took the shine off everything else.

The hotel is conveniently located to explore historic Ávila.
The staff was indifferent and unhelpful, lacking support when I needed assistance. Additionally, the overall cleanliness left much to be desired, with dirty towels left in public areas and a distinct lack of attention to detail.

Staying at Palacio Valderrabanos was quite memorable. The location right next to the cathedral made it super easy to explore the historic sites. I loved the unique ambiance of the building itself, a converted palace, boasting fascinating decor and charm. My room, a Superior Double, was spacious and clean with a lovely view of the cathedral. Those large windows flooded the room with natural light, enhancing the overall experience. The beds were incredibly comfortable, making it easy to rest after a long day of sightseeing. However, the noise from the plumbing was really annoying. It felt like I had a loudspeaker in my room whenever someone in another room turned on a faucet. That noise definitely impacted my ability to relax. Also, I was a bit disappointed with the bathroom amenities. The hotel only provided a single all-in-one shower gel, whereas I expected more variety like shampoo and conditioner. Housekeeping left only one toothbrush for two people, which seemed off for a hotel in this range. The breakfast had a decent selection, but the scrambled eggs didn’t impress. The second morning, I asked for fried eggs, and they were much better. Talk about hitting the mark the second time around. The on-site restaurant didn’t have much atmosphere, but it was quiet and just right for a quick meal. Overall, it was a great stay with a few bumps along the way, but I would consider coming back if improvements were made.
